Years ago I ran across these cookies for the last time while on a ski trip at incline village Nevada - I bought 2 bags and planned to bring 1 home but they didn't make it all the way home :-), Holy Crap!!!!! I remember grocery shopping with my mother at the commissary in Newport RI. They usually were gone during the drive home from the grocery store to the house. Please Nabisco, make a good business decision and bring these back. The company was improving the cookies, making them more attractive to the modern health-conscious consumer. These were and remain my all-time favorite cookie. I thought I was the only one who did that - not anymore after reading these comments. Visit a sweet shop selling one of the first candies ever made and sold in America. I was looking up pinwheel cookies and came across Ideal. My grandmother used to always have Ideal cookies in her cabinet when she lived in Arizona. The fact my kids never had one is enough reasonwait, not it's not. These were my favorite treat as a child! My husband and I started to think maybe we had dreamed about Ideal Cookies. The assortment packs included several types of cookies and were marketed for families or parties because of the variety they offered. These cookies were the source of numerous battles in my house. In the past 10 years or so I have not found them and about 2009 time frame I asked Nabisco what happened and they said that they stopped making them totally. Please bring them back. They were the absolute best cookie I ever ate. My Mother kept these IDEAL Peanut Butter Cookie Logs in the Bread Box part of our shelvesthey were maybe three inches long and sorta like a flatted log.dark rich chocolate, didn't taste cheap.and had an inner crispy peanut butter filling, with some moisture.something like a Clark Bar taste, only a bit more of a cookie. And it didnt help that that there was an existing Hydrox Chemical Company on the market, one that sold hydrogen peroxide and was caught up in a trademark lawsuit at the time over the use of the word hydroxa lawsuit that noted the term was used for coolers, for soda, even for brands of ice cream.
